27-05-2009 - Interview with the winners

BESC: Your video was the voters' favourite clip this year on BESC. How about this news?
Inga: It's really nice! Thanks a lot, We are very happy to hear this!

BESC: Who did create the conception of the video?
Anush: The whole conception of the video belongs to the director David Babayan.

BESC: Did You have a desire or idea to realise in the clip?
Inga: Yes, the desire was to create a virus-dance and make people get infected with that:).

BESC: The scenes were filmed in various places, it makes the video more colourful. Are all these places in Armenia?
Anush: Yes, the shootings took place only in Armenia. And it IS colourful and bright, you should visit us someday! :)

BESC: How many days did it take to film Jan jan?

Inga: We did it in 4 shooting days.

BESC: Which was the most memorable moment these days?
Anush
: We worried about the bridge scene a lot and the most memorable moment was the one when we saw the dance on the bridge and realized that we got what we wanted.

BESC: We feel the clip gave another message to Your song: "come on, lazy people of modern world, couch potatoes, get up and do something exciting!". Are we right? :)
Inga: Haha:) Yes. It's all about colouring the gray daily life and do something bright alto
gether.

BESC: Did You watch Your competitors' videos? Did You have a favourite?
Anush: We watched all the videos and would like to mention Belguim, Lithuania, Ireland and Ukraine.

BESC: Could You tell us an interesting or funny story about the shooting?
Inga: Oh, there were so many of them... One of the funniest things is that the idea of the glowing instruments was born suddenly in the middle of the shootings - we didn't plan that, but it turns to be one of the most impressive moments of the clip:)

BESC: What do You think why Your video is so successful?
Anush
: Most people love this video because it's message is reachable to everyone.

Inga: It is a cheerful video, it shows unification and equality. Something like "all you need is love", and we express love by our dance.

BESC:Anything else You feel important about the clip?
Anush: Just one comment we receive the most: the more one watches the video, the more is the desire to watch it again. This is the most important thing for us:)

Thank You!

Interview about the clip

Your video clip was filmed in a truly wonderful atmosphere on a beach. How did you manage to catch this atmosphere so well on TV? Can you tell us more about the story behind the video clip?

Vlad: "It was our director, Petre Nastase, who made the video clip - he is really a great artist. He found the locations. They were both very close to each other. One of them was on the seaside, an empty, let's say virgin, beach - there was nothing there, no people, no hotels. It looked like the end of the world, as the song itself describes it."

Nico: "And it was really windy and cold outside!"

Vlad: "Yes, that's true! We shot the first half of the video clip there, and then we moved on to the second location, which was about ten kilometres away, but it was very special. I don't know how the idea came up to our director. It looked almost like the Grand Canyon in the United States there. It was actually an abandoned stone pit, which looked like a huge cliff. When we reached the place, it was a bit cloudy - we didn't have any sun. But then, just before sunset, the sun appeared between the clouds and we had that magical light on the stone walls. And he shouted: 'Ok, NOW! Let's shoot!' We had that light for four minutes. We switched on the full playback, we went through it, and then the light was gone. We were very happy to get that scene. So, in fact, we recorded the whole clip in only twelve hours, and we were very happy that we got such a great result."

Nico: "I think the video clip only turned out that good because we had such a great time with our director and the whole crew. Everyone was so enthusiastic, and we were so pleased and proud to work with such a wonderful team."

Video clips are made to promote the songs of the contests for years.
By now let's choose the best of them! THE CHOICE IS YOURS!

As long as countries are searching their actual Eurovision songs, we will concentrate the clips of last year.

Voting: 2009. 02. 01. - 2009. 03. 01.

Why 32?
In 2008 the number of entries was 43, so we would have 43 video clips. But some clip was recorded on national finals (or other shows, where the selected song was presented), they are not regarded as music video. Other clips was made after the contests' finals.
